What is a rug?

Galim is one of the different types of carpets that are hand-woven with a simple texture similar to a mat or basket.

According to the works of the past, this type of carpet is considered one of the oldest and even the first hand woven by humans.

The first carpets were very simple and without patterns and were made in the natural color of wool, but today and with the progress of industries, they are produced in various designs and colors.

Getting to know some of the threads used in carpet weaving:

BCF thread: BCF stands for BULK CONTINUOUS FILAMENT, which means continuous volume filament yarn produced during the melting process of BCF yarn with long fibers and is available in two forms, heat set and freeze.

_hit set: A process in which the yarn gets a higher quality and strength after being spun with stabilized temperature and steam.

_Freeze: An operation in which yarns with many curls and twists are produced for special applications.

Nano thread: using nano particles technology in the production of thread for antibacterial and anti-electricity of the rug.

According to the recommendation of the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research, the standard diameter of yarn used for carpet is between 30 and 50 microns.

Necessary tools and equipment for carpet weaving:

Dar:

A framework called is used for carpet weaving.

Dar is prepared both horizontally and vertically according to the geographic location of the region and local customs.

Tabrizi dar is one of the most common types of vertical dar, the weaver does not change its position while working with this dar.

Daftin:

After weaving each row, the weaver hits the work with a daftin, entangles the woven yarn and weft and gives the rug proper strength.

The type of daftin used is usually iron and consists of seven to ten thin blades with a width of two and a length of twenty centimeters.

Thread thread:

The foundation is the carpet texture and it is usually made of cotton with different thicknesses. In some villages, due to the ease of access to wool and the lack of access to cotton, wool is used for weaving.

Even silk can be used for this purpose.
